This reading focuses on the six main shifts around reading (reading comprehension, phonemic awareness, phonics, high-frequency words, cueing systems and text selection) to help teachers meet the needs of their students.  This reading is based of the research known as the “Science of Reading” which all Pre-K- 6 teachers in Texas are required to demonstrate proficiency in.

This book describes how teachers of all ages can develop a playful-mindset to give students significant learning environments that are meaningful and applicable.  

 

 

 

Linton, J. (2018). The blended learning blueprint for Elementary Teachers. Corwin.

This reading is designed to help teachers create and carry out a plan to effectively implement a blending learning environment in their classrooms.

Peterson, A. (2020). Teach, play, learn!: How to create a purposeful play-driven classroom. Dave Burgess Consulting, Incorporated.

In this book the author shares his thoughts on play-based learning in classrooms.  It has several activities, examples and even a pedagogical toolkit to help teachers create a place full of play opportunities in their classrooms.
