About me
I'm Hillary Turnage. I have a Bachelor's of Education from the University of Houston and am working towards my M.Ed from Lamar University in Applied Digital Learning. I have been teaching kindergarten since 2012. I am currently on the Personalized Learning team and Math Leader Team for my campus. I am happily married with two beautiful daughters. When I am not teaching, my family and I spend out time serving our church, playing board games, or traveling.
My passion
I believe that there is more to learning than just mastery; learning should be fun, challenging, innovative and explorative. I believe that meaning is constructed through experiences, as well as repetitive practice. Learning should be natural and encouraged, not forced and rigid. My biggest aim is to influence change within the classroom and encourage my students to have fun while learning. In doing so, I want them to take ownership of their learning so that they can experience the joy and love of becoming life-long learners.
